I WAS ABLE TO ENJOY A REAL DESCENT WITH BEACONS
It’s become a tradition!
The descent with beacons, a must-do experience! Can you imagine anything more wonderful than reaching the top of a mountain in the dark, going on a descent lit by beacons following the instructors, arriving at the bottom of the resort and admiring the magnificent fireworks going off and resonating in the night?
Organised every Thursday during the February holidays, these festive descents follow the same unchanging ritual: a climb by ski lift to the top of the green run at 8:00 pm with an atmosphere on the snow front and the parade of mascots, Piou Piou, Garoloup and Joan le Desman. The human caterpillar departs at 9:00 pm, with fireworks, wine and hot chocolate. This evening enables us to enjoy a unique experience, a completely different kind of snow sport in an unusual and fun-packed setting. To achieve the above it’s necessary to congratulate the course maintenance team, which does a remarkable job, ensuring a well-prepared base with granular but compact snow. The staff, as usual, are welcoming and friendly. The green slope with its snow bridge leads straight to the foot of the bell tower. A beautiful evening evoking anecdotes in the evening, in mountain cabins. This experience reminds us all of how skiing can be unifying and a source of happiness.
The French Skiing School invites children and adults to come and enjoy a unique and thrilling experience. At night, with your skis on, you’ll descend the mountain lit be beacons on the Petit Prince slope.
All the skiing school instructors get the ball rolling and descend the famous Mur Mermet like a chain of light. The child skiers from the French skiing school set off one by one and follow each other in single file, two metres apart, torch in hand (multi-coloured LED bulbs for an amazing effect).
Which of course means taking the bends without sticks… in the dark, with their multi-coloured beacons, they form giant snakes sliding down the green slope. The parents can admire the ribbons of moving lights on the snow front dancing to the beat of the sound! A show rich in emotion.
A free show of light, a moment for sharing involving adults and children. Followed by mulled wine tasting for adults and hot chocolate for the younger ones. You’ll then have the whole evening to recover from your emotions! The dream of all skiers, both young and old! We invite you to enjoy this unforgettable experience with the instructors.
