Inspired by Jean Pompougnac’s *Justin the Just* or *The Cart*.
1915. War is uncharted territory, and it is there that Justin, a poor peasant, is sent at a time when he ought to be tending his fields. He must go off to fight, in the name of a law he knows nothing about, against an enemy he has never seen, when all he dreams of is staying on his farm. His encounter with Basile, a Senegalese infantryman, will open his eyes to this war he does not understand. It is alongside him that he will rise up against the injustices of an absurd chain of command, and become a hero unlike any other.
