\nelegance. An anonymous sonata from the late 17th century illustrates the richness of a repertoire that remains
\npartly mysterious. With Antonio Vivaldi, the cello comes into its own, singing with intensity and lyricism.
\nSantiago de Murcia\u2019s Folias espa\u00f1olas resonate with a vibrant, dance-like folk tradition.
\nGiovanni Benedetto Platti\u2019s sonata displays melodic refinement and a subtle instrumental dialogue.
\nThe indispensable Arcangelo Corelli embodies this perfect balance, notably with his famous Folia,
\na highly virtuosic piece that takes up and transforms the same theme as that of Murcia\u2019s Folias.
